why's my levo dose so delicate?

Hi ovsa
Do you mean Lio (T3), or do you really only take a tiny dose of Levothyroxine (which won’t be doing anything and could be making you feel worse)? Please let us know in full what thyroid medication you are taking and for how long.
Also, do you have recent blood tests? It would help if you could share TSH, FT3, FT4, thyroid antibodies. Also what’s your vitamin status like: ferritin, folate, vitamin B12, vitamin D3?

Looking at previous posts, you also take T3?
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested
Hi ovsa. I have looked at your profile but it only contains your name. It is helpful if you put the history of your journey from being diagnosed - with what etc (ie. hypothyroid/hyper so that members can read without you having to repeat it often.
Whatever dose of thyroid hormone replacements you take, it should be with one full glass of water and wait an hour before eating. You don't state if it is T4 or T3 (levothyroxine or liothyronine) Food can interfere with the uptake of thyroid hormones, that's why it is recommended to take it on an empty stomach with a full glass of water and wait an hour before eating.
Thanks for responding ! I was diagnosed in 2006 with hypothyroid, I had antibodies which declined shortly after, i have been taking 50- 75 mcg levo until i stopped for about 8 months my tsh then was around 4 and t4 10- 11, then i felt a need to take some med and i cant get more than an 8th of a 12.5 tablet of levo but yes it certainly helps i feel it when i forget it. i take vit D regularly . i couldnt get my gp to test ferritin but transferrin was 2.4. Ferritin a while back was 6.7. My platelets are low if that makes a difference.
If antibodies were present that would mean you have hashimoto's the commonest form of a dysfunctional thyroid gland. The antibodies wax and wane until you are hypothyroid.
As you can only take a miniscule dose the following link might be helpful:-
That seems really odd.12.5 /8 = 1.5mcg Levothyroxine a day , which is more or less 'nothing'.
What caused you to stop taking the 50/75 Levo ?
And what happened when you reintroduced the 50/75 dose ? , i'm assuming you tried this first ?
(also , forgive me , but i have to ask ......There is only one brand that makes a 12.5mcg tablet in UK, and it's not usually prescribed , because it's rather expensive compared to the other sizes .... so ,are you certain the tablets you're using are only 12.5 mcg Levothyroxine ? )
When you say my "body shut's down and my digestion stops, and my head can't think'.... this sounds exactly like under medication/ hypothyroid ie an indication that you need to take MORE , rather than an indication that you CAN'T take it .
When i reduce my dose even a little , my digestive system goes to sleep, and food just sit's in my stomach feeling like a stone./constipated / brain is not awake/ etc These issues are fixed after a few days/weeks when i slightly increase my dose again.
ps.
"i have been taking 50- 75 mcg levo until i stopped for about 8 months my tsh then was around 4 and t4 10- 11,"
Do you mean your TSH was 4 when you were taking 50/75 ? .....if so, that showed you needed to INCREASE dose at that time. (or do you mean TSH went to 4 after you stopped taking Levo ? )
