If you mean the Teva levo oral solution, then yes I use it and much prefer it. No side effects like the tablets.

Hi, yes that's the one. I have never tried oral solution before but I have had side effects from some generic tablets too, so I will give it a go. Thanks a lot. 🙂

How would you go about getting liquid levo?

Hi, I spoke to my doctor and told him I have reactions to the generic tablets. I am allergic to acacia and other ingredients and have had terrible side effects with the Levothyroxine generic tablets. I've tried all of the brands. He said that the oral solution liquid is available on prescription. They just have to write oral solution/liquid on the prescription instead of tablets. If you go to the Thyroid UK website there are a list of licensed medicines available on prescription and the oral liquid solution is listed. There are also different brands of the liquid but all of the ingredients are listed, so you might be able to see which one would suit you best. Here is the link: thyroiduk.org/if-you-are-hy... 🙂

My doctor will not prescribe the liquid thyroxine as he says it is too expensive.

I'm sorry to hear that but it is a licensed prescription medication, so it should be available. If the tablets don't suit you or you are having side effects perhaps you can insist or if not you could try another doctor. All the available medication is listed at this link: thyroiduk.org/if-you-are-hy... It also lists all of the ingredients for all brands and medication so you can see what may suit you best. 🙂

Thanks. It is virtually impossible to speak to a doctor here in bedfordshire . but next time I have a thyroid test (which is always high) I will ask outright.

Yes it is really difficult at the moment. Yes give it a try. The best of luck. 🙂
