Is T3 Blacklisted
If an NHS endocrinologist says you have clinical need for trial of T3 you should be prescribed. 3-6 month trial with T3 prescribed via hospital pharmacy
NHS England Liothyronine guidelines July 2019 clearly state on page 13 that TSH should be between 0.4-1.5 when OPTIMALLY treated with just Levothyroxine
Note that it says test should be in morning BEFORE taking levothyroxine
Also to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Assuming trial goes well, endocrinologist requests GP take over ongoing care and prescribing. Annual review back with endo
Difficult to find pro T3 NHS endocrinologist
(perhaps it upsets their career path if they prescribe too often ?
Some CCG areas are worse than others. Post code lottery
Even if a patient has been prescribed T3 in the past and may now want to get it prescribed again by the NHS, many doctors or endocrinologists aren't willing to do so due to the exorbitant cost to the NHS.
It's not the patients' fault that the cost of T3 has escalated and they should not now be penalised and even if they've not had it prescribed, they should be given a 'trial' of T3, or T4/T3.
Trouble for me is I cant take Teva which they say is the generic and cheapest form and Morningside which has worked for me for many years is very expensive beyond my means
Teva, Morningside and Advanz (Advanz used to be called Mercury Pharma) all cost the same. If they're saying Teva is cheaper, they're wrong! And all three are generics. Morningside only came onto the market in 2017/18.

Thank you so much for the link I have printed it off and will use it with gusto when making my case . This site is so good I have had so much information and help from the people on here thank you all
Thanks everyone it's my gp again he's just making things difficult for me to get the T3 Boots the Chemist wont give me the brand I've been taking for years without a hand written script from GP he did do twice and told Boots to send s.a.e then didn't send the prescription generally messing everyone about cant get to speak to him till 16th March so have sent him a letter.
A hand written script? They’re messing you about. I email my requests for repeat prescription to my doctor’s surgery. They electronically send this to my local Boots, stating my drugs and brands, and I get a text when ready. Simples.
I wish! and yes they are messing me about but in my ignorance I don't know how to stop them Boots wont supply unless brand name appears first on script Doc wont supply it that way as his system wont allow him to do so. Doc hand writes script for two months then Boots asks him do give them bulk scripts for several months he agrees Boots supply s.a.e he does not do it they have to pay for the month they gave me assuming he was playing ball I cant speak to him for two weeks omg are they messing me about or what!!!
Contact Boots customer care, and chairman's office if needed.
As I see it, hand-written prescriptions should not be demanded by them.
Did this got no reply my daughter started tweeting( I don't tweet) they gave general answers but would not discuss with her or ring me told to ring customer services eventually area manager got involved which is when GP was pressed into giving hand written scripts now he's stopped doing that and wont do what Boots ask of him I Boots wont supply unless he does I can speak to him for two weeks
Contact the MD - your email will surely be hand;led by one of his team rather than him personally. But this is as high as you can get in the UK.
Take some time with your daughter - say what is wrong, and what would make it right. explain clearly and accurately - but keep it manageable.
