Mentally drained

I've struggled all my life with trying to put on some weight but given up if I could just figure out if I have hypo or hyper-thyroidism because I'm tired of being tired, insecure, mentally drained etc

How come you can't figure out if you have hypo or hyper-thyroidism? Your blood test results should tell you. When did you have your last blood test? Do you have any sort of diagnosis? Are you taking any kind of medication?

Losing weight can be both a hypo or a hyper symptom.

I have a friend who could not put on weight even though she really needed to. She was late forties when they eventually diagnosed gluten allergy ie coeliac. Coeliac and hypothyroidism can go together.

Have you had your thyroid antibodies tested or been tested for coeliac?
