Hello

Long story short, I have been taking 60 micro grams of T3 for 4 years approx, the weeks before Christmas I was feeling rotten, in the end I could not bring myself to take any T3, so I reduced my dose to 50, still feeling rotten, reduced 40 and 6 weeks later am on 20 micro grams, I cant take 20 in one dose so I take 10 in the morning and 10 12 hours later, the less T3 I took the better I felt, I did a little research and discovered euthyroid, when I became ill 6 years ago it was after years of bulling at work, this I believe was the trigger my stress levels was through the roof, I was sacked for fraud and after 6 months I won my case and got my job back, but the bulling got worse. just before Christmas I decided to take ill health retirement and a weight was off my mind.

If someone is described as "euthyroid" it means that their thyroid is "normal" or healthy.

Bullying can cause enormous stress which would raise cortisol. There is a relationship between cortisol (produced by the adrenal glands) and thyroid function. If someone has high cortisol for a long time it might be reluctant to reduce once the stress has been removed.

If someone with a healthy thyroid had high cortisol for some reason their thyroid may respond to the high cortisol by reducing output of thyroid hormones.

It might be a coincidence but from what I read it is possible, I just very glad to be away from all that was going on in work.

Thats wonderful news and you deserve it!

Did you ever get your antibodies checked?

Thanks MichelleI do not think I ever had my antibodies checked before Covid, I had my blood tested for covid antibodies because I still have breathing difficulties, the test came back negative for covid antibodies.

Euthyroid just means good thyroid, it's not something you get or discover. It's what healthy people have. Reducing stress can improve thyroid function if the thyroid is not damaged. Great that you feel better.
