Does anyone have a problem with taking armour and sertraline at the same time.
Sertraline: Does anyone have a problem with... - Thyroid UK
Sertraline
I am not medically qualified but would only take thyroid hormones alone. Armour is one of the original thyroid hormone replacements and contains all of the hormones a healthy gland would do.
I would take the sertraline well apart from Armour so that nothing interfered with the uptake.
susanhamm, Have you checked the patient information leaflets of these medicines to see what is advised? The usual advise for thyroid hormone is to take it away from food and other medicines to avoid absorption problems.
Thanks for the reply Some sites say they are ok but others say they interrupt the uptake of Thyroid meds..
I think this is an uptake problem so will have to see what can be done but all the switching and changing of meds and having no help from Doctors who either are trained in mental illness and have no idea about thyroid problems or Thyroid Doctors have no idea about the mental problems it can cause.Just keep trying to get a balance somewhere.
Hi, as far as I know, Sertraline is known to increase TSH and decrease FT4, why don't you take something else (from the same class of drugs), like Lexapro? Anyway, they should not be taken together.
My son has just been taking the sertraline for a few weeks but his TSH has gone crazy. 23.11.2020 when his TSH was 2.4 but on 10.12.2020 with sertraline 6.48so very confused as he has only just changed from citalopran to sertraline.
