DUTCH testing

Does anyone have insight into whether DUTCH testing can be done on the NHS? I have hypothyroidism but it seems that even the ‘second opinion’ consultant is now eager to refer me back to my GP (round in circles for the last 7yrs) but historically, since age 14 I have had issues with my hormones. Been diagnosed with Bipolar since 2010 but as I have discovered, with the agreement of my psychologist and psychiatrist... I do NOT fit the criteria for bipolar. Which brings me back to a sex hormonal imbalance.

They have tested levels of sex hormones twice, but it’s obviously useless as a one off test. The ups and downs of my cycle are debilitating mental and physically. Why won’t they investigate to this level, where they assess the hormone functioning as a whole? I know it’s probably to do with funding, as they can’t provide this service to everyone that complains of mood changes, but I’m a 33 year old woman who can’t currently work, can’t maintain relationships, can’t even look after myself and my son sometimes due to my ever changing state of health. I’m so fed up. I want a life back, I want to go back by to work, enjoy life and I can’t while I’m so irregular with mood, energy, physical fitness etc.

I’ve checked and the tests are around £400 but then I believe further consultations are required. If I have to I will find the money somehow. But even if I do, I worry they won’t do anything with results anyway?

Thanks to any information offered x

Bi-polare is a hypo symptom. When did you last have your thyroid hormones tested?

I did my own recently. They seemed ok?.. well I should say, I knew if I showed them to the docs they’d say they were ok 🙄

I’ll find them now...
