T3 Only Medication Timing prior to Blood Tests

Hi, I’m due to have blood tests Friday morning. I’m aware there is a best time to take medication prior to testing but can’t find anything 🤔

I take T3 Only - usually at around 7.30 am daily.

My blood test is booked for 9.00 am Friday.

Am I right in thinking I should have my last dose 12hrs before test? (so 9pm Thursday evening)

I have already had my Wednesday morning dose.

As I understand it your t3 needs to be taken 12hrs prior to testing so yes if your test is at 9am then your correct you take it at 9pm. Nothing to eat or drink beforehand except water then take meds straight afterwards. Try getting your test done as early as possible in the morning, I try to get an appt between 8am-9am no later. Hope this helps.

We recommend splitting T3 dose into 2 or 3 on day before test so that you have last 1/2 or 1/3 of dose at 8-12 hours before test

Remember you need to have stopped taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before any blood tests
