Good morning,
Is fibromyalgia or CFS classed as an auto immune disease ?
I don't think so ! What makes you ask ?
Often is undiagnosed or inadequately treated hypothyroidism.... especially if autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto's)
On the basis that there is no definitive cause - it is just a syndrome - classifying it as autoimmune would be inappropriate.
They may be 'names' given to symptoms when the TSH hasn't risen high enough for someone to be diagnosed.
Have you had a Full Thyroid Blood Test i.e. blood drawn at the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) i.e. TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. Also check B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
Dr John Lowe was also an Adviser to Thyroiduk before his untimely death and you can read on this link about fibromyalgia as he was an 'expert' on the use of T3 to resolve symptoms of fibromyalgia and CFS. He believed that some people were 'Thyroid Hormone Resistant'.
Long time ago I was diagnosed with both.... FM first then CFS, as nothing improved.
The GP had run out of ideas and needed labels....
They say if you have a "label" it helps....it doesn't!
They are both syndromes....collections of symptoms.
Not autoimmune diseases.
I rejected both and said there must be a clinical cause for my problems. GP not amused!
Eventually barely able to function I found this forum... and the answers that I had been sure must exist.
Clearly not the solution for every patient but in my case Resistance to Thyroid Hormone. (RTH) Low T3!
It 's been a long bumpy journey involving self medication but I am improving.
For many others it is likely to be less complicated.
Do you have a thyroid problem?
Have you had a full thyroid panel tested?
This might be of interest...

This is probably not the reply you hoped for but post again if you need more help.
My experience suggests further investigation is needed
Best...
