I am back strength training and want to make sure my diet matches it. I am considering a mediterranean style diet. Is this a good idea? What are the best resources for thyroid nutrition? Any UK based nutritionists or Drs? I follow Isabella Wentz and Nicole Morgan already anyone else or anyone in the fitness industry of any note (I know this patchy as the industry can be dodgy)
Do you have any books you'd recommend?
TIA

I’d be wary about following a fitness person for nutrition advice at all, they’re not usually qualified or have very basic 4 week course type of qualifications.
Angelique Panagos is a registered nutritionist specialising in Female hormones and she has thyroid issues herself. angeliquepanagos.com I’ve got her book which includes recipes. And she’s on Facebook, insta etc
I’d say key is trial and error to see what works for you and adequately supports your training as everyone is different. I personally have dairy issues so try to cut that out. And peeps on here say many with Hashimoto s do better going gluten free. Mediterranean is generally considered to be one of the healthiest diets around.
Thank you. I had a PT a few years ago who was a brilliant PT but not great with nutrition. He couldn't understand why I didn't lose weight if you dropped my calories low.
I will check out Angelique.
Did you have an intolerance test for the dairy issues?
