Eating iron rich foods like red meat, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily orange juice or other vitamin C rich drink can help improve iron absorption
This is interesting because I have noticed that many patients with Hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism, start to feel worse when their ferritin drops below 80 and usually there is hair loss when it drops below 50.
Not even a comment from gp about it. And i do suffer from hair loss..
As for the reduced dose i
Did noticed recently that I feel the heart beet in my neck and now third day in reduced dose I don’t feel it anymore.. so maybe it was a right thing to do.
Your Ferritin level is dire at just 4.5% through range. Low Ferritin can suggest iron deficiency with or without anaemia. GP should do a full blood count and iron panel. If iron deficiency or anaemia then GP needs to treat and monitor your levels regularly.
I commented on your Ferritin result as I was tagged for that.
though I need an answer regards the t3 and 100 mg. As no one is mentioning that this one is high and reduced dose to 100 was correct??
Maybe because no-one can understand why your T3 is so high with your level of FT4. I don't have Hashi's and my hypothyroidism came after my family was complete so I have no experience of your situation to draw on.
If a pregnant woman is not anemic, a serum ferritin level less than 15 ng/mL indicates iron deficiency.7 Some experts believe that in pregnant women who are not anemic, a serum ferritin level between 15 and 30 ng/mL may also indicate iron deficiency.8
Even though the ferritin level may be influenced by the plasma dilution later in pregnancy, a concentration below 15 μg/l indicates iron depletion in all stages of pregnancy.
