t3 not working well
How long have you been on 50 mcg? Are you taking levo as well? Do you have any recent blood results? Are you supplementing nutrients?
I'm fine on my NHS lio - but I take levo as well, and don't take as much as you: we'e all different, but it's really about optimising those free T3 and free T4 figures for me.
I have no problem with prescribed liothyronine. I do not have to stick to one brand. I have been able to chose between brands.
I also need levothyroxine and both FT4 and FT3 need to be over 60% through their ranges for me to feel well.
You need to look at blood results once you have been on Mercury Pharma for at least 8 weeks. They should guide your decision along with symptoms.
I have been on T3 for years but the strength seems a lot weeker now or maybe I need additional supplements. I take thyroxal twice a day which has all the b vitamins and take vitamin c and bit d.
Suggest you get full thyroid and vitamin testing after 6-8 weeks
Remember to stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before ALL Blood Tests
NHS also do 2 other options
Morningside healthcare T3 maybe a little “stronger “ than MP
Teva is lactose free
Every person is different in how they perceive each brand
I have given up on British T3 as it's much weaker than Cynomel or Cytomel. As I am a T3 only person it makes a huge difference to me and I managed to convince my Gp years ago to change my British T3 prescription to Cytomel as it's actually cheaper for the NHS to buy than British T3. I have had to argue my case recently with an Endo but hopefully he has agreed to continue my Cytomel. Cytomel is not licenced in the UK, but is the most used T3 in the world. It is certainly far better than British T3 which is poor quality in comparison.

I think this is true as well. I get prescription from boots. Do you think if I mentioned cynomel from Mexico they would get it. I suppose not as not listed. My endo wouldn't have clue I am afraid.
I think Pharmacists have to use certain suppliers of drugs and Boots is a large drug company. I know when I worked in the hospital pharmacy that was the case. The NHS supplied us with a list of who we had to purchase drugs from.
I would have to buy then to feel better. What dose is equivalent to 50mcg of T3 Mercury pharma.
You wont get Cynomel on prescription, but you can have Cytomel but it has to be written as "Cytomel " on the prescription and you would need to take it to a small independent pharmacist. My pharmacist got my Cytomel from an importer as it comes from Ace in the Netherlands. Boots and larger supermarket pharmacies will only use their own wholesaler who does not deal with importers.
The doses are the same across all T3s, it's just that some work better than others.
