Hi Previous TS H was 0.26.Stayed at same dose, now it is 0.13 just 3 months later.I asked for a copy of results to be e mailed to me ,because not going in because of covid 19.They are going to post them out,so I will post them here when I get them.I am at the stage where I cannot walk up a hill incline without muscles feeling weak and short of breath.Pulse goes up to a hundred when walking up hill in garden, pulse 80 at rest.I feel better just sitting ,but need to keep active.why is TSH going down ?
Why is TS H going down ?: Hi Previous TS H was... - Thyroid UK
Why is TS H going down ?
Just testing TSH is completely inadequate
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
How long at that dose?
Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine?
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially as you have Hashimoto’s
Low vitamins lead to low TSH and poor conversion of Ft4 to Ft3
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
List of private testing options
All available as DIY finger prick test

Yes I will.I have got him to do tsh,but he will not do t3, got him to do full iron panel and vit d and vit b12.Bloods done in morning and did not take my dose thyroxine.I have been taking vit d and vit c only.I am going to start but b12,just wanted bloods done to get base level.I always get same make, dose is 125 mg Sat and Sun and 112.5 mcg the week days.1 have been on this dose for 8 months.
So you will need to get TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested privately
Just TSH tells you zero and completely useless
Wait to see if they do actually test vitamins on nhs test first...if not include them on private testing too
