Just wondering if you can help. I did a medicheck test and some of my antibodies came back out of range. I did the test as I was feeling really tired and have been trying for a baby with no luck and a friend suggested I check my thyroid. I have been advised to test on an annual basis - but just wondering if the out of range results could be affecting my fertility and if so if there is anything I can do to help.
I have attached a photo of my results below. If anyone could help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Your thyroid antibodies are raised and suggest autoimmune thyroid disease, aka Hashimoto's (as patients call it). This is where the immune system attacks the thyroid and gradually destroys it, leading to hypothyroidism.
At the moment you are producing good levels of thyroid hormone. As each attack will destroy more of your thyroid, then eventually your hormone levels will fall and once your TSH goes over range then an enlightened doctor should diagnose and prescribe Levo, as long as your antibodies are over range at the time. Without raised antibodies then most doctors wait until TSH is over 10.
In the meantime, it may be a good idea to learn all you can about Hashi's.
Most doctors dismiss antibodies as being of no importance and know little or nothing about Hashi's and how it affects the patient, test results and symptoms. You need to read, learn, understand and help yourself where Hashi's is concerned.
Some members have found that adopting a strict gluten free diet can help, although there is no guarantee.
Gluten contains gliadin (a protein) which is thought to trigger autoimmune attacks so eliminating gluten can help reduce these attacks.
You don't need to be gluten sensitive or have Coeliac disease for a gluten free diet to help.
Supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily is said to help reduce the antibodies, as can keeping TSH suppressed.
Hashi's and gut absorption problems tend to go hand in hand and can very often result in low nutrient levels or deficiencies. It's essential to test Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin and address any problems. You are welcome to post these results, including reference ranges (plus units of measurement for Vit D and B12), for comment and suggestions for supplementing where necessary.
