Bashu We cannot help if you don't tell us your blood results. We can only help when we have them . Otherwise all we can say is that what you describe can be symptoms of a thyroid problem.
You have been given good advice by SlowDragon to get vitamins etc tested. Maybe you could read her reply to your posts and make a note of actions you could take that would help your situation.
Lansoprazole is used to treat too much stomach acid. People with hypothyroid problems tend to have too little stomach acid. The symptoms are very similar. If lansaproazole makes you feel worse then it is because you have low stomach acid.
According to the letter there is no immediate hurry for action. Thyroid hormone is OK.
It's possible that your symptoms are caused by other factors such as low ferritin or iron. Ask GP to check blood levels for vit D, B12, folate and ferritin. Get results and post them here for good advice. You will need those levels to be good if you have thyroid surgery in the future.
If you post your thyroid blood test results people can give some suggestions as to whether they are good or not. However, if you had them done at the hospital it may not be easy to get a copy. If done by GP, ring reception and ask for a copy that includes the lab ranges.
Obviously you need FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
Thousands of members in U.K. forced to test privately
Come back with new post once you get results
Would STRONGLY recommend getting tested BEFORE operation
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
