Friends i am 49 my menopause start.my periods came after 30 days sometimes 50 days.is it because of thyroid.thyroid med can fluctuate periods date?i want my periods stop completley.help me

As you are in menopause then expect your periods to be all over the place, you can go for months without one, then get two close together. It's totally unpredictable until they stop altogether. Nothing to do with your thyroid or thyroid meds.

How long is a piece of string? No two people are the same, no-one can tell you. I think all of us who have gone through menopause have been sick of it for one reason or another.

Hi Fauzia, my periods stopped for 4 months when I was 42 (2012). Had a blood test done as I was always regular. Anyway came back perimenopause. Since then I could have periods 2 months running then stop for 3, 4 or 5 months and that's how it went until 2 years ago when they stopped completely. So 8 years on I think I'm nearly through it . So its unpredictable and we just have to wait it out I'm afraid. X

I know how you feel. I once didn't have a period for 6 months and thought they were over but no they came back! I didn't actually go through the menopause until I was 55 and I think I take after my Grandmother and Aunts because they were still having periods at 58! I was glad to see the back of mine but you then get other symptoms like hairs on your upper lip etc. Just try to hang on they will stop eventually.
