Utterly confused!

Sorry to post again so soon but I could use some help!

As mentioned before my endocrinologist told me to increase t3 from 10 to 15mcg as my T3 was only 43% through range and I am very symptomatic - internal vibrations, acid reflux, constipation, palpitations, erratic heart rate that speeds up. I tried an increase of 5mcg in the evening and after a few days my pulse went from 60-80 throughout the days to up to 76-88 and at one point 112 for a few minutes. I was vibrating and had mild palpitations and periods of anxiety accompanied by dizziness, blurry vision, cold shivers (followed strangely by a need to pee) but a pulse of 72-6. As such I decreased to try a more gentle increase and interestingly in the few days after the decrease from 15 down to 10 some symptoms were still very bad but my energy level was much improved and I felt really good with my pulse also back down.

Now 8 days after being back on my old dose (with a very minor increase yesterday and today - I am aiming for about 11-12mcg) I feel dreadful and worse than I did before the increase. A more oppressive tiredness has returned, I am anxious, more constipated, have blurry vision, very dry skin, the vibrating is very bad and what concerns me most is my pulse is now frequently 88-92 again at a more frequent rate rather than occasional peaks as before and when its high its often accompanied by feeling out of my body and with oppressive anxiety but in the evening it falls and reaches 52 in the late evening. This has happened over the last couple of days Today I woke up with a pulse of 92 and it fell to 80 after I took 5mcg. This afternoon I felt horrible anxiety, out of body etc at 4.30 and with a pulse of 92. I took my 2nd t3 at 5.45 and as an experiment took a little extra - maybe 7mcg and my pulse fell back down to 76-80 but I felt anxious and also had what I could only describe as an adrenaline attack without the panic - I lost my appetite, got blurry vision, dizzy, my face flushed hot and then after I got a headache. Now after eating and almost 2 hours after the dose I have palpitations (I often get these after eating) and my heart rate is 88-92 again but I don't feel mentally as bad.

I am so confused because my body seems to be reacting worse now I have gone down than how it was when I went up! I don't know if my body is trying to tell me it does want more after all but I am scared of it getting worse because I feel so awful and the heart/out of body issues are frightening me but it also seems like I can't stay where I am and either way I need to increase to 15mcg somehow. The only other thing thats changed is I am taking vit c again - but I have taken this exact brand and dose only a couple of months before and never had issues.

Any advice would be so hugely appreciated!

Hey owl87, we talked the last time, I am very sorry you are experiencing this.

As you know, I also have similar symptoms on increasing.

Couple of questions so I can help you better. How long were you on 15 mcg? Did you reduce to 10 mcg from that, how many days now?

Thank you cuppaofcha I am so very grateful for your help!

I was on the 15mcg for 5 days. I’ve been back on around 10mcg for 8 days with these worsening heart symptoms starting on the 6/7th day

No worries at all, happy to help :)

Based on my experience, what you might be experiencing now are fluctuations after the change. They can be as scary as increasing t3. If I decreased t3 by 5 mcg I would be feeling sick, this is why I prefer working with 2.5. If you increase again, you might get palpitations again, hard to say. But if you decide to change anyway, I would go with 2.5 only.

Personally, 5 days on 15 mcg would not be long enough, I have been now 5 weeks on my dose, and even a week ago I was having palpitations, vibrations for a few days. They come and go, even as I am getting better. If it is unbearable, as I said before, I would only change 2.5, it is more gentle

These are scary symptoms, I have been through so many times, spaced out, anxious, insomnia, fear. I am sorry that you are feeling it now, but it will pass x
