Hi guys just wondered if anyone knows if Lloyd’s or rowlanfds use specific levo brands or swap them all the time? The pharmacy I currently use are constantly changing brands and I don’t seem to feel as good on the actavis ones as I did on the mercury pharma and when I’ve just called them they are now saying they have teva which I don’t really want to try. They don’t want to order a specific brand in either x

The company McKesson own the Lloyds pharmacies (including former Sainsbury pharmacies), the AAH distributor, and the own-label supplier brand Northstar.

I believe this makes it far more likely that you will get Northstar products at Lloyds pharmacies.

Similarly, the Almus own-label supplier brand is owned by the Walgree Boots Alliance groupd.

I have no idea about Rowlands except they were selling off many (all?) of them:

Ah that’s interesting, I wasn’t aware they were all sold/being sold. I may have to look at trying a different brand and see how I get on from boots or Lloyd’s then. Thankyou x

My local pharmacy is Rowlands and I have always had Actavis from there. However, it is marked on my record there to only supply the Actavis brand and there's never been a problem.

I had my repeat medication picked up this morning and they included a note to say that "Accord have taken over Actavis". I knew this had happened and I've been expecting the new packaging for some time now. Nice to know they are taking notice of what's on my record and have informed me of the change :)

I've not had a problem with the brand being specified and I don't know what brand(s) they supply to others.

Thankyou, I think I’ve just been unlucky with an unhelpful pharmacy, back when I worked in community pharmacy we would always offer to order specific brands if a customer preferred a particular one, if there wasn’t a huge price difference as it’s always best to keep the customer but they wouldn’t even entertain the idea and I don’t imagine there’s much price difference between them all x

Small independent pharmacies are often more flexible ...like a Free house pub they can use different warehouse suppliers

Beware.....Northstar 25mcg is Teva

Yes you’re probably right! I might try the independent ones, thankyou. Eek it’s so difficult to stay on top of all the manufacturers isn’t it. X

It depends a bit on the staff. My local Boots have been outstanding in sourcing the brand of lio I prefer.
