What TSH level was you before put on Levo??

I was 20.58 Tsh and put on 50mg. 8 weeks down the line I am now 4.89 tsh. Should I continue on 50mg or should it increase?

In the UK, it is usual for hypothyroidism to be managed by GP. Hence most of us do not have an endocrinologist.

(I don't know where you or Ela499 are in the world?)

My endo is no existent more like. No help at all. Even worse with gp as they need guidance form then. Just got off the phone and they will not do anything for me as the consultation has to deal with it. I am in the uk as well. My tsh and t3 gone up and t4 dropping. So not right at all and lost on what to do. :-(

It looks to me like you most certainly need an increase in dose. Not too much - maybe 75 micrograms. Keep to that for six or so weeks and see how you are then.

Always remember that TSH can and does lag behind treatment.

That's still quite a high TSH and 50 mcg is a "starter" dose that you would expect to increase. Do you have other blood test results from the 8 week stage? - would be useful to see free T3 and free T4, and how these sit in their ranges, and ideally key nutrients - ferritin folate, vit D and B12. It's difficult to advise just on the basis of TSH. Remember to have an early morning blood test, with a 24 gap from taking your levo. Do you take levo on an empty stomach with just water for an hour aterwards? [this is best]. Do you feel well?

So huge improvement in numbers since you started on levo. Your T3 and T4 are nicely high in range ... so not sure why your TSH is still (relatively) high and you feel rotten. May be worth checking / improving the key nutrients. Good luck x
