Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Is this how you did these tests?
Only TSH tested....completely inadequate and never ever agree to dose reduction based solely on TSH and Ft4
FT4 was only 64% through range....you were not over treated
Folate too low.
No B12
No vitamin D
Ferritin ok
Now your TSH is too high ....likely extremely low Ft4 and Ft3
Recommend getting full thyroid and vitamin testing
Thankyou slowdragon, last June I had full bloods done with medichecks , my folate was 3.35 , my Ft4 was27.3 and my Ft 3 was 5.8
The doctor said that taking 75 Levothyroxine caused me to be slightly over ,and was probably the cause of my difficulty in getting to sleep , he said that to alternate the 50 and 75 would hopefully balance things out
But now I feel under medicated , and wondering if this is causing the chills
Regards jill
Poor sleep is linked to low vitamin D, folate and B12
All three were low in this Medichecks test

Have you had levels retested since?
Folate was still too low in November
Vitamin D - improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol may be better

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function. There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7
It’s trial and error what dose we need, with hashimoto’s we frequently need higher dose than average
insomnia linked to low vitamin D As explained by Dr Gominack
Have you ever had thyroid antibodies tested?
If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).
About 90% of all primary hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's.
Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten.
So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once .

I’ve just checked , I had the well woman test at 150 pounds , I’ve decided to have the thyroid one that you recommend, will let you know the results .
I do feel under medicated at the moment , since January 2019 , I have been treated for helicobacter pylori , gall stone removal under active thyroid , gum decease , nail psoriasis all within 6 months , I’m sure there is a connection somewhere , prior to this I have always been fit and healthy, never needed the doctors , but now never seem to be away
Thankyou for listening
H Pylori is common when hypothyroid (ie under medicated) as when hypothyroid this leads to low stomach acid which makes H pylori more likely

Far, far too frequently we are left on too low a dose of levothyroxine or have dose inappropriately reduce
