Dated 30/1/2020. Wockhart recall
Posted by Lyn Mynott earlier today, a few replies, and Helvella yesterday :
This is interesting as I normally have 50mcg oral solution Levothyroxine and I cannot get it as it’s out of stock. I have called Wockhardt in Wrexham for an update and they cannot give me a ETA. So I requested 100mcg oral solution and I had the same reply also out of stock with no update on next delivery/ availability. So my pharmacist requested 25mcg oral and to take twice as much. I got the 25 strength and started taking it. Within 4 days I was in a right state. I didn’t know what was going on. I felt drastically under medicated or over medicated I couldn’t work it out. I did have my bloods done in a bit of a panic as I felt so unwell. I had taken my morning T3 medication prior to the blood test, which normally I don’t do, my T3 was a little low for me at 5.00 (3.7-6.00). It’d normally be that figure without taking T3. So I’m not sure what was going on. I’ve now got to start with another brand once my Wockhardt 50mcg oral Levothyroxine has gone. And I dint think I’ll be using the 25mcg again after the reaction I got from it. Maybe something to do with converting as I’m a very poor converter.
Thanks for this post, it has given me the possible reason why there is no 100 or 50mcg oral Levothyroxine in stock by Wockhardt anywhere in the UK.
