We have talked about this before. How the medical world has changed the specifications for diagnosing various conditions for the purpose of increasing the use of certain medications.

Nevertheless, many conflicts of interest occurs outside the pharmaceutical industry. The end results are taking no action or the wrong actions, which prevent cost-effective disease prevention. This article also explores examples of government authorities and a few scientific organizations that block the use and availability of effective and affordable nutrient products and medications.

In the mid-1960s, prominence was given to a group of chronic disorders, including elevated blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), and chronic pulmonary and kidney diseases (CKD). In response, the pharmaceutical industry was successful in developing new classes of expensive, prescription drugs and market effectively for these forefront disorders. The thinking and strategy at that time was to identify a disease/entity and develop a drug to reduce its severity.
