Blood results

Hi everyone,

I just received my blood results you can see attached.

From what I understand, I should up my levothyroxine from 125mcg to 150mcg, may be leave the liothironine as it is, currently 25mcg.

Would that be right?

Thank you for any advice.

When on combination hormone replacement, we all have our own individual needs for where our FT4 and FT3 lie to feel well. Your FT4 would be far too low for me so I personally would be increasing Levo. All you can do is try it and see if it's right for you. Retest after 6-8 weeks to see what your levels are like then and how you feel. You might find that your FT3 will also increase, depending on how much natural conversion you have.

Thank you seasidesusie and lalatoot. That's what I was thinking. Tbh I was surprised my free t3 was that high, although not top of the range, that's why I was thinking to leave the liothironine dose as it is and increase my Levo and see what happens.

Are your vitamin levels optimal?

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested ?

Hi Slow dragon, I will have my vitamin D, B12 and folate test next week. I will post my results as soon as I know which should be next Thursday hopefully.

Also, do my antibodies look ok? I'm not sure where in the ranges I should be. Thank you.

Antibodies should be as low as possible, yours are very low in their ranges.

That's great! Thank you very much seasidesusie and slowdragon for all the work you do to help people. It's such a great relief to have someone who can answer your questions! Hopefully I'll get there soon. I'm starting to see a small improvement, especially mood wise, so I know I'm on the right path ☺

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Did you stop any supplements that contain biotin a week before any blood test?

I would perhaps initially increase levothyroxine to 137mcg and retest after 6-8 weeks

Though ...on today’s post all your vitamin levels are low, so you likely have room for full increase to 150mcg daily

Increase in levothyroxine should also increase Ft3 level a little
