I have hashimotos and pretty sure I have a goitre. In the last week or 2 I have noticed it is getting more and more uncomfortable when I swallow. It’s like there is a lump stuck in my throat. But everyday it seems just a little bit worse. Can it grow that quickly? Or is it in my head?

I'd be interested to know too. I've had a sore throat when swallowing for about 12 weeks now. 4 weeks ago I realised there was a lump. Awaiting an ultrasound. Assuming mine grew in around 8 weeks?
They grow only slowly; think in months rather than weeks. BUT, the longer you leave it, the more serious become the consequences, and they can be very serious indeed.
The operation to remove my goitre was delayed 6 months by reasons I've yet to discover. The first surgeon had opted out ½-way through the op. the second surgeon told me it was by far and away the most complicated op he had performed in a dozen or more years.
If the goitre is affecting your breathing then be sure to keep good care of yourself. you wil be susceptible to pneumonia, highly dangerous if you're no longer a youngster.
Don't delay if surgery is necessary and be proud of your scar, to survive is all that matters.
Mine actually came up quite quickly, but I had been ill for months. It actually took having a goitre for my GP to test me for thyroid, and the GP said it probably would stay no matter what drugs I took! It went within a month when I started treatment. My TSH was over 50 by this stage.
And no, it is not all in your head, it is in your neck! This is what I told my GP when he refused to believe I was ill. Lol!
