Hi.

I'm am after some advice please. Struggled for couple of years but getting worse. Fatigue, dietary intolerance, low moods, memory poor.

Was tested last month for B12, told by gp normal.

293 (150-900) range

Ferritin 38 and folate 8.8

She said oh your thyroid was low last year, we can retest. Serum is 0.42mU/l

Serum free T4 12.5 test says normal. I can't get back in to see Dr for 2 weeks. But thought I could ask here?

Any advice please as to the thyroid test?

TIA

Olly you need to ask for the ranges for your results. The ranges vary according to the lab used. Once you post TSH and Ft4 with the result and ranges we can comment.

Hi.

Serum TSH 0.42 mU/L (.35 - 5.50)

Serum Free T4 12.5pmol/L (7.0-17.)

On the top one I'm just in the range I guess.

Dr receptionist said its less than last year and Dr thought that was low so sent me again. Guessing I'm wondering whether to go back, feel like I'm a right nuisance. :-(

Your B12 would be better around 500+ Folate around 70 or mid-range. Folate also too low - a guess as you have not posted the range ! No VitD result - good around 100. Vitamins and Minerals often low with Hashimotos. Are you taking any meds ? Supplements ?

You need better thyroid testing to include FT4 FT3 TSH and thyroid anti-bodies TPO & Tg. Can you have Private testing done through Thyroid UK ... thyroiduk.org Click onto About Testing. Lots of information to confirm the points I have mentioned above ...
