Cardiologist has prescribed me a beta blocker 50mcg but to start on just 25mcg as needed due to tachycardia whilst i slowly increase my thyroid meds, does anyone else take these and if so when? Can you take them with your thyroid meds?
Beta blocker and levo: Cardiologist has... - Thyroid UK
Beta blocker and levo
No, you can't take it with your thyroid 'meds'. They need to be taken at least two hours away from thyroid hormone.
Which beta blocker?
Is it a single slow release tablet?
Have no idea if slow release, it's atenolol?
Ok - I don't know that one
If it helps you increase your Levothyroxine up it will be good idea
It can be chicken and egg.....palpitations because your under medicated....but you can't increase dose because of palpitations
Getting vitamins optimal should help
Yes he says I can take only as needed if i like on small dose, recent iron test on receptors says I'm in iron replete state which I guess is good, next checking Vit D, slowly building thyroid back up, but noticed today after taking beta blocker that I felt better, also heavy muscles seemed a little better 2, so if it helps me through while increasing I'm happy to do that, but not long term.
