My son has suspected hyperthyroidism and, last week, when we had the mini heatwave, he became much more ill. His temperature went up to 37.8 and his pulse to 100. His hair was coming out in huge handfuls and he just felt awful, but at no point had he gone out into the sun. Could the extreme heat have exacerbated the hyperthyroidism or is it more likely that it's a coincidence, or even some other illness?
Thanks.

So sorry to hear about your son feeling worse miklaw0402 . Although my temperature only went up by .4 my blood glucose went haywire and went to 7.6 from it's usual 5.6 with no change of diet. As I am on the cusp of pre-diabetes I was getting a bit worried that I was really going to get Type 2 diabetes. It has now settled again at 5.6 again with no change of diet. Do hope by now your son is feeling better. I am another one who hates summer. Roll on Autumn, my favourite season.
