Recently had a ct scan on my neck, and thinking this is when the problems started with pain in my thyroid area.

I read some people on here saying that a ct scan caused they’re thyroid cancer?

Should I be worried?

What symptoms did people have?

CT scans are x-rays which of course can cause cancer. However, without being certain I feel sure the doses are kept as low as possible and the risk is minimal. Maybe someone else can quantify the risk.

Thyroid cancer is usually really slow. I never had ct scan but had thyroid cancer found by mistake. Pity it was missed 2 yrs previously in another MRI.

Could just be happenstance. I wouldn’t worry overly much as huge amounts of ct scans done but thyroid cancer rates are low.
