Someone has suggested cardio K cholesterol pills instead of statins.i am not planning on taking these but wondered if anyone has ever tried these and do they work
Cholesterol : Someone has suggested cardio K... - Thyroid UK
Cholesterol
High cholesterol is a symptom of hypothyroidism. Suggests you are not optimally medicated. If you post your results for TSH, free t4 and Free T3 people can advise. High cholesterol does not causes illnesses, but is a symptom of something wrong - so you need to fix the thing that is wrong, not artificially suppress the cholesterol. Never heard of cardio K cholesterol pills - they might contain red yeast rice. High cholesterol in the elderly is associated with a longer lifespan - ie high cholesterol means you live longer, so don't fix the wrong thing
They do contain red yeast rice.
I posted this a while ago:
I read that T3 helps reducing cholesterol.
Since I take T3 my blood pressure is improved, in the past it was 140/88, after starting on T3 it’s 120/84
Btw, I had high cholesterol, I think T3 has reduced it and that resulted in better blood pressure
Wow that’s good news.something for me to work on now.i have had some lovely replies which has helped me understand about thyroid and statins so now I am better informed .thank god for sites like these.i wonder why we have doctors sometimes .lol
