Infection with H pylori usually occurs in families with several children. It is passed on by person to person contact eg through unclean drinking vessels. Nothing whatsoever to do with thyroid problems. Or with stomach acid. To get rid of it, the usual antibiotic is clarithromycin or similar, but stomach acid has to be reduced to potentiate the antibiotic action and delay its chemical breakdown before it has a chance to act.
