I am feeling very strange taking 50 mcg, I know that I have to get use to taking it, been out today had a little wonder with a friend, now here comes the evening and I know that I’m not going to be able to sleep again, maybe it’s that making me feel stressed, how long before I feel a bit normal?

I started taking 50 mcg for 2 weeks felt so awful on it, was phoning the doctors just about every day, then one of them said it maybe to strong, so said take 25 mcg took that for 3 days ended up sleeping all night, first night I slept all night since this started, but had a screaming headache, then my doctor told me to go back on 50 mcg and ride it out, so went back to 50 now can’t sleep again and am feeling awful again, very dizzy, I don’t know what to do for the best,

Have you got a copy of blood test results from when you were diagnosed? What were the results? Did the doctor test TPO antibodies? A change of levothyroxine brand can cause problems for some people.

What brand of Levo are you taking? Did you have a change of brand when it was increased to 50mcg?

You said a few days ago

I feel bloody awful on this Levothyroxine 50mg, got hold of my doctor yesterday and she has lower the dose to 25mg, see how this goes.

Were you given a 25mcg Levo tablet? Actavis don't make a 25mcg tablet.

As said in a previous reply, you might be reacting to one of the excipients in the tablet. Ask to try a different brand. Be aware that Northstar, Almus and Actavis are one and the same, so you'd need a different brand to those.

Sorry the 25 mcg are TEUN?

TEVA?

Teva brand is the one we hear of most where members have adverse reactions. Some people do well on it but many members have reactions.

So which one do you think is making you feel so bad?

Were you OK on the Teva brand and started to feel bad on the Actavis brand. Or were you OK originally with the Actavis and only started to feel bad when you took the Teva?

Both are horrible but I did get a good nights sleep on the TEVA, but was also advised on here that 25 mcg would possibly make things worse?

What do you mean with "I feel weird?"
