Could anybody give me a little advice as to what might be happening and if it’s normal.
In May I had a full thyroid check with Medichecks, after I posted the results on here, you guys gave me some excellent advice re vimatims. Hashimotos was confirmed at the same time. At that time I was on 125mg Levothyroxine.
My TSH was 3.25. (0.27-4.2)
Free T3 4.67. (3.1-6.8)
Free Thyroxine 14.5. (12-22)
I was advised to increase my thyroxine and retest in 6-8 weeks. I didn’t increase my thyroxine because I was due to have bloods for my doctor in a couple of weeks time. I finally got to see my doctor last week and she had her new blood results.
My TSH was 2.26. (0.34-5.60)
Free T3 5.2. (4.2-6.7)
Free Thyroxine 12.9. (6.5-17.0)
She has increased my Levothyroxine to 150mg because I am still feeling am still having lots of issues with fatigue, aches and pains etc. Since I have increased my dosage I’ve had heart palpations twice for about an hour each time which has really concerned me. Should I just bear with it until my body gets used to the increased dosage or would you advise that I alternate 150/125mg if that makes sense. I’m reluctant to go back to my go to discuss this issue as I was the one to push for the increase due to how I was feeling and I fear she will just decrease me and then I won’t be increased at all again.
So my long winded question, sorry peeps is is this normal? But I haven’t had it happen when I’ve increased dosage before. Could it be because I might be nearing optimal range? Or could it be a Hashimoto swing that I’ve been reading about? Any help would be great. Many thanks.
