As the picture shows , here is a lemon balm plant I bought
I’d heard about the healing properties and assisting weight loss .
Now I’ve found it causes problems with TSH and stopping the T3/T4 working
Anyone else use it ?

I don't use it but I remember considering a supplement which included lemon balm (it may have been to help sleep, can't remember exactly). When I looked further into it I discovered that it's not good for us thyroidies so never bought it.
Nice looking plant though, maybe plant it in the garden but watch it doesn't spread too much (I think it's like mint, it spreads, so may be keep in a container.
💜 Good idea 😊 x
I had this in my garden back in the 80's it never spread like mint but always smelt wonderful.
I rub the leaves to bring the smell out ✨
Yes lovely, nature at it's best and so comforting.
My garden is full of lemon balm - I use it as a hedge. It's good for hyperthyroid but avoid it if you are hypo apparently it "inhibits TSH receptor binding, which causes decreased production of T3 and T4 in the thyroid gland". It also is supposed to inhibit "the ability of Grave’s autoantibodies to bind TSH receptors". It's an old established remedy for an overactive thyroid.
Hiya,
I've not heard or seen anything about lemon balm interfering with thyroid meds before this post but, I saw a reflexologist last year and she used a cream that contained lemon balm. It was lovely and she gave me some for me to use at home and my feet felt so much better with it than without.
