Just wondering if there’s any research on naturally produced female hormones and thyroid hormones?
For example, I know that taking extra oestrogen can mean you need extra thyroxine.
I currently have no periods as I’m breastfeeding a 1 year old; they didn’t return for 2 years last time. But I suspect some fluctuations in hormones. I’m currently on my lowest dose ever of thyroxine. Just wondering if there could be a bit of natural interference as they return?
Of course being a female issue there will be no research....

I do think that I needed less when I was breastfeeding and had lactational amenorrhea; however at the same time I learnt about not taking biotin a few days before the test. I’d never ever stopped before though after 20 years of tests. So who knows? Not long after periods returned and I went very hypo. It’s been a long time getting the dose right, though I do think the flax seeds I was putting on my porridge may have been an issue too.
Now I’ve set a really strict routine, higher dose and have the seeds later I seem to be much better.
