Cortisol test results

Hi

I have just done a saliva cortisol test (am considering switching from levo to NDT) and the results show high for the waking one and the other 3 normal. Could the levo I take first thing in the morning make that morning reading high?

Thanks all

Well taking Levo first thing in the morning certainly doesn't make my cortisol level high, I'm trying to raise mine and the waking cortisol level is the one which I'm finding most difficult. I take my Levo plus T3 any time between 3am and 6-7am.

What do you mean by "high" and "normal".

Optimal levels for cortisol, according to web.archive.org/web/2018083...

• Morning at the top of the range

• Noon approximately 75% of the range

• Evening close to 50% of the range

• Nighttime at the bottom of the range

Hi seasidesusie

Results :

Waking 21.7 (6 - 21 nmol/l)

Midday 3.11 (1.5 - 7.6)

Afternoon 1.77 (0.1 - 5.5)

Evening 1.5 (0.1 - 2 )

Looks like I can try a bit of meditation in morning to see if it reduces.

Sorry to hear about your cortisol struggle x

Sue

Your morning one is barely over range, it's said it can be at the very top of range so it's probably not much to worry about.

The others aren't optimal

Midday is only 26% through range (should be about 75%)

Afternoon is 26% through range (should be about 50%)

Evening is 74% through range (should be around the bottom of the range)

Which company did your test? Did it come with a graphic so you could see how much you vary from the normal curve?

Sorry for the very late reply! I did it with Thriva and there were no graphs - just my place in the range

How are you trying to increase your levels?

My levels are low at every one so what I do is hopefully raising all of them. I'm afraid I don't know how one is supposed to tackle mixed results like yours.
