I know from reading on here that Teva has caused a lot of issues. However, I was wondering if anyone had experienced high blood pressure, when taking it? My elderly mum has suddenly developed this and there doesn't appear to be any medical reason, she has been thoroughly checked over by her doctor. Her brand was changed to Teva about 2 months ago.
Kind regards

Hello there, sorry about your mum. Just to say I'd never trust Teva as it put me in hospital with two seizures after only taking it two days, one seizure half hour after taking it and ended up in hospital for the night only for them to disbelieve me so I had to take it again as had nothing else and I had another seizure after it Infront of the nursing staff. I'd well avoid that brand. I only take T3 now another long story though. Good luck take care.
Thank you for replying. I think it is possibly connected to the Teva, as it is the only thing that has been changed recently. It is strange, as she has always had really good blood pressure.
My first reaction is to put her back on her original brand at the original dose. When you change brands it's like going back to square one, 100 mcg (or whatever) is not 100 mcg in any other brand of medication. You can get a rise in BP if you suddenly start to generate too much T3, this COULD be the case but you do not want to start fiddling around with all that all over again, it could take years to get it right. My advice is to get back to what worked and do it as fast as possible. Regarding the doctor thoroughly checking your mom out - ask him/her what her T3 and FT3 levels were, the doc will probably not know and therein will lie the problem, and the solution.
I wonder if you got a solution to this? I’ve also just been diagnosed as having high blood pressure and have been taking Teva for six weeks. My previous brand caused no side-effects and I’ve never had a blood pressure problem in my life before.
