Probably due to the tablet amount and where your chemist gets their supples from. I get my prescription deliberately in 25mgs, I take 6 a day, to get Mercury Pharma. I reacted very badly when I tried activis.

Ask your GP practice to print the brand on the prescription then the Pharmacy have to supply it.

Good idea, the pharmacist is well aware, but he keeps saying, I just have to use whatever brand they send me.

You MUST always get the brand that makes you feel well. Finding a new brand that works is as difficult as getting to the right dosage, you must hold one of the factors constant otherwise you will be fiddling around for months, if not years. You cannot say, well 100 mcg of brand X worked for me therefore 100 mcg of brand Y should be the same. Alternatively you could just accept one new brand, stick to it, and fiddle with the dose for a year or two, there is probably some set of circumstances that will make any brand work if you can stand the time and effort it takes experimenting.

I was lucky to get on a good brand of Levo first time but it took more than a year to get to the right dose. After about 2 years that brand (Forest Pharma) had it's contract(?) to manufacture Levo expire and I had to look for another brand which suited me - it took two years of trying the cheap, the generic, the popular, the expensive brands (during which time I felt ill) before I concluded that there was just not one out there that made me feel well. I switched to Armour NDT and I was finally well .

Thank you, I’ve never been able to feel as well since they changed the Eltroxin recipe. Maybe I need to try NDT too
