Love Productions is an award winning TV Production company who make a variety of programmes for all the main channels. They make the household favourite, The Great British Bake Off, and have also made highly acclaimed, thought-provoking documentaries such as Dispatches: Breastfeeding Uncovered and The Cruel Cut.
They tell us, “A new BBC series will bring together a number of people living with obesity/people who self-identify as being fat* (*we are aware that language and descriptors are complicated), to share their experiences and opinions.
This is definitely NOT a weight loss programme. There will be no “expert” opinions; instead the series will provide a platform to encourage the various voices from a section of society that is often discussed, but rarely heard.”
The more research Love Productions do, they feel, the better, therefore they’re keen to hear from a range of people to get the best understanding possible.
By getting in touch there’s no obligations to get involved in filming, though there will be opportunities to do just that as well. It’s equally useful to speak to people simply from a research perspective so you could chat about how your condition affects your weight and how you feel about that.
They are more than happy to discuss the language people prefer to use when they speak with them as they understand that everyone feels differently about this and they want to be as respectful as possible when it comes to this matter.
