It has long been my view that they are "safe" conversions. If you go from levothyroxine to desiccated thyroid according to their table, you are not going to over-dose. You will pretty much certainly have to increase from that dose, but that is probably better than taking too much.
The real problem is if you try to use them the other way around. For example, for some reason you can't get any desiccated thyroid and need or want to take levothyroxine instead. If you followed the table in reverse, you would end up over-dosed on levothyroxine.
I can't read the small print on my phone with my eyesight but I feel that any change in any direction possibly means you may have to fine tune it a little after as we all can vary a little and fine tuning can take a little while to reach what is your optimum dose.
