Weird symptoms!

Can anyone put my mind at ease?

Over the weekend I was very bloated with trapped wind (sorry, tmi!)

It eased on Sunday a bit but yesterday I felt wiped out, shaky and I have this odd discomfort under my ribs. Burping more than normal but no acid/heartburn feeling. Same today, very low energy, feeling weak and shaky and still this discomfort right under my ribs which is worse on standing and walking.

I recently increased to my prescribed dose of T3 after starting it slowly and I really don’t think this is the cause but I thought I’d ask!

I’m actually wondering if the bloat was kicked off by eating some white bread on Friday - is this a typical gluten reaction? I’ve never had this particular discomfort before.

What’s made it worse is I googled it (should never do that 🙈) and it mentions heart attacks etc! I really don’t think it’s that but it’s made me worry more!

Classic gluten reaction in my opinion

Are you now on strictly gluten free diet normally?

If so how long since you cut gluten out?

Ah, you and I have had this conversation before SlowDragon !

No, I’m not gf.

I wondered as I’ve identified that I had 6 slices in all of white, “toastie” bread on Friday. I normally don’t eat much bread at all but this was just a strange day. I’ve never had this odd discomfort under my ribs before, its worse when I walk or take a deep breath. It’s definitely my stomach that’s affected as opposed to my gut which I wouldn’t have expected. Although my gut definitely wasn’t right at the weekend!

I’ve been feeling better on the T3+T4 although the last few days I’ve not felt as energetic as I did initially and I’m guessing I probably need more but I haven’t done bloods yet and I’m not due back at the endo for another few weeks.

I’m hoping the really lethargic and shaky way im feeling now is part of this other “illness” and not related to my thyroid levels as such.

How much T3 are you now on?

2 x 5mcg?

Getting full Thyroid testing is usually recommended 6-8 weeks after starting on 2 x 5mcg

Before considering any further increase

Yes, 2x5mcg.

I started on that as advised but couldn’t bear the headaches that ensued about three days in. So I reduced to a quarter (!) tablet twice a day and titrated up every three days until about a week ago.

I felt great for a few days but have been feeling rubbish since the weekend again. Hard to tell if it’s this tummy thing only. I suspect I will need more T3 / T4 but will get a kit on Thursday and go from there 🤞🏻

Personally I always feel worse a few weeks into increase in dose,

waiting 6-8 weeks gives everything time to rebalance before testing

Agree.

I could do without this tummy thing making it worse though!
