I’ve attached part of my letter from my Endocrinologist. Which states that they do not offer combination treatment through their department and so he’s passing me off to a geneticist 😫 I have made an appointment with a private Endo. My GP surgery are closing ranks because I made a formal change of GP request and they now treat me as a non compliant patient because I have dared to try be in control of my condition over the last 10yrs (Hashimotos, always with low FT3) Anxiety reigns supreme for me at this difficult time, I feel like I’m in a constant state of flight/fight response and I know this is detrimental to adrenals and thyroid function. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It shouldn’t be this hard to get treatment 😫😢
DIO2 and NHS: I’ve attached part of my letter... - Thyroid UK
DIO2 and NHS
These results clearly demonstrate your FT3 is far too low.
Just got the results in from Thriva today!! Finally after the fourth attempt I filled that tiny vile that was the bain of my life!
I’ve increased my Levo on 12th March
Nov 2018 - 12th March 2019
175mcg x1 and 150mcg x6
12th March 2019
175mcg x2 and 150mcg x5
Extreme symptoms have alleviated but not fatigue and trouble getting to sleep (although this could be down to the stress of fighting for the correct care!)
TSH - Nov - 0.09 (0.35-5)
Jan - 2.5
Feb - 2.1
Mar- 0.351 (Thriva 0.27-4.3)
FT4 - Nov - not done
Jan - 23.3
Feb - 16.8
March- 22 (Thriva 12- 23)
FT3 - Nov - not done
Jan - 3.5 (3.5-6.5)
Feb - 3.9
March - 3.81(Thriva 3.1 -6.8)
Anti TPO - Jan 86iu/ml( 0 - 50)
March 84kiu/l (Thriva >34)
Anti TGAB - March 613kiu/L (Thriva <115)
Vit D - Feb - 36 (nhs Endo no range)
Mar - 53.1 (50-100)
Folate - March- 31.9 (Thriva 8.83 - 60.8)
Ferritin - March -82.8 (Thriva 13 - 150)
Active B12 - March - 75.5 (Thriva 25.2 - 165)
So your vitamin D is improving....keep going. Retest again in 2-3 months
How much vitamin D are you supplementing?
Are you also supplementing magnesium or vitamin K2 Mk7?
Improving vitamin D can apparently increase our need for B vitamins
Folate and B12 are OK, but don't want to fall any lower.
Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be beneficial.

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast
Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Certainly only start with one tablet per day after breakfast. Retesting levels in 6-8 weeks ).
Or Jarrow B-right is popular choice, but is large capsule
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

As expected....FT3 remains low. FT4 right at top of range.
Poor conversion
It isn't difficult just treat yourself I do and now feel OK. No more appointments, no more arguments, easy.
I simply take a private blood test post the results with the ranges on this site for answers.
I have found more information from the people on here than the medical profession.
Bunnyjean I’m curious how you obtain thyroid supplements, and heavens! I am not asking for names (fear the dreaded censors). It is refreshing to hear a success story, and I can imagine how you are testing - but for those who cannot obtain a prescription (by fighting with Drs). How is it done? How does one “treat yourself”? I may be there with you some day. I’m thinking I just might have to buy pig thyroid glands at the butcher and dessicate them! Ha!
