Morningside T3

I take 75mg T4 and 10mg T3. Recently the make of my T3 changed from mercury pharma to Morningside. I think it might be making me jittery, flushed/hot in the face and giving me a feeling of a weight on my chest - especially if I sit still or lie down. I feel as though I am struggling to get breath into my lungs. Has anyone else experienced this with this make? At the same time think I also am more fatigued. Difficult to pin down precisely as I am very up and down but had had a few weeks when I wasn’t too bad — once i’d got over all the terrible morning aches and pains in my arms and legs and got going. Then got a new blister pack of T3, went for a swim one day, and have felt pretty dreadful a lot of the time since. Is this just me ?

You need FULL Thyroid and vitamin testing 6-8 weeks after any change in brand of Levothyroxine or T3

Personally I found Morningside Healthcare T3 is better, possibly slightly stronger

Some of your symptoms sound like low vitamins

What supplements do you currently take?

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw). This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

come back with new post once you get results and ranges

Hi Slow Dragon. Thanks for replying. I’ve only been taking them for about a week. And yes I do tests every so often. Most of my vitamin levels are generally good. Iron is usually a bit low and I try to get it higher for a bit then tail off. I do eat some very lean meat but couldn’t eat liver. The aches in my arms and legs wax and wane, sometimes linked to the weather I think, and living in the Thames Valley doesn’t help but the jitteryness is different.

Do you have Hashimoto's?

Are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Can help with aches and pains

Vitamin D at least over 80nmol

B12 and folate near top of range

Ferritin at least half way in range

Do you supplement vitamin C? May help improve iron absorption
