Forever researching

Firstly thank you so much for all the information shared on this community! Interested to find out if anyone has any other endocrine problems. My thyroid is proving difficult to diagnose, other than being a little large doctors are not acknowledging anything else. there seems to be something going on in the parathyroid but bloods suggest secondary Hyperparathyroidism.... seems I’m going deeper in to the endocrine system to find the root cause. Has anyone else found a trail, trying to research as much as possible while waiting on referral to endocrinology, gp suggest they may not even see me. But determined to get better and listen to my body.

Those who are knowledgeable about hyperparathyroidism will respond when they read your post. In the meantime these are past posts:-

What in your bloods is showing hyperparathyroidism ? Parathyroid and thyroid are not connected but many people with hpth also have thyroid problems.

There is a fair amount of info on my parathyroid forum, the forum itself is no longer active but the info is still there.

Other than their name and location, the parathyroid glands have no connection to the thyroid. What is leading you to consider secondary hyperparathyroidism? Do you have depleted calcium levels and/or chronic depleted Vitamin D levels? Is your PTH level elevated? Blood tests can help rule those things out or in, including looking at kidney function; what were you tested for, and what were the results? DEXA scanning can identify any resultant bone issues, and ultrasound can pick up calcium deposits, have they been mentioned to you based on your blood test results? Re. your thyroid, what have been the results of your blood tests looking at thyroid function?

Parathormone slightly above range, calcium within range, vit d low. Thyroid bloods all within range. Although all on the higher side.

Ultrasound on thyroid normal just prominent, neck constantly tight and feel something inside. Could just be a small parathormone tumour but bloods aren’t really accounting for the ever growing symptoms.
