Is this to do with thyroid

Hi everybody, I would like your opinion and advice please.I hope the photo has come out of my daughter’s throat. About a year ago, I advised her to go to the doctors as she was showing hypothyroid signs.apparently her doc said she was borderline(hmm) and she hasn’t got her blood results. We ha e had words, as she said that even if she showed as hypo, they were not prepared to treat her with those results.

However, she has now developed an annoying red mark on her throat, looks like a butterfly.

Would this, in your opinion be thyroid?

Any help would be appreciated.

I am one of those people that find visible signs of thyroid problems interesting. I feel it's the body trying to tell us something. I had a pale butterfly on my neck for years before diagnosis - paler than the rest of my skin.

You could have Private Testing done through Thyroid UK.

For full Thyroid evaluation your daughter needs TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
