My endocrinologist has recently written to me to say that she can do nothing more to help me get better and is taking me off her list. My GP hasn't done blood tests for years. Am very concerned about this. What are my rights anybody please. I have very complex medical problems she is well aware of and I feel abandoned.
Not going to have thyroid tests done anymore! ... - Thyroid UK
Not going to have thyroid tests done anymore! Very worrying.
What is your current situation? Are you on meds? Do you have hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism?
Are you in the UK
Could we have a list of symptoms, the medication you are on and your puklse and temperature. What your diagnoses is as well.
It sounds like you might be better off with out this endo anyway.
Make a complaint to your local PALS and ask for clinical reasoning for de-listing/abandonment and seek referral to another clinician
Usually a specialist only stops being involvd when theyve diagnosed & given all the advice re treatment and you are stable so GP continues with the treatment. Your GP has duty of care to do blood tests usually annual or six monthly to ensure your health. GPs are then meant to contact the specialist if they have any further concerns. Well thats how it works where I am.
Are you on treatment if do what?
