I had blood tests yesterday to check all my thyroid levels so I’m currently waiting for results. However, I’ve had digestive issues on and off for years now. Chronic constipation is the longest symptom but the main thing that worries me is pain when swallowing. Not so much in my throat but more in my upper back. I have pain from my neck down to my ribs in tender points and feel like I need to stretch it constantly. I sometimes get a shooting pain in my neck too. It’s always the left side. I have gurgling in my throat as well. The fact it comes and goes confuses me.
It’s definitely not every time I eat but I have flare ups every few weeks and it lasts a day or two at a time.
I had an endoscopy a few years ago and I’ve had several MRI scans. This is just another symptom in a long list of many. Having a big flare up now and my whole body hurts, I feel exhausted.
Not come across this as a symptom of thyroid before so might be going completely down the wrong route but if anyone has anything similar please let me know.
Thanks

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).
About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's.
Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten. So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once .
Endometriosis and Hashimoto's are more common together
