I take 3 NDT a day and I am a 61 year old female. I have noticed over the last couple of years that I am getting weaker but it is really bothering me now. I walk twice a day and am active throughout the day and have been having problems with a recurring groin pull. A couple of months ago I kept pulling my achiles tendon and now I am having trouble with my ankles, feels as though they are both muscular, I haven't done anything different. Today I was just putting out the recycling and I pulled a muscle in my back. I have also had a recent problem with no. 2 incontinence, like a rabbit pellet suddenly expels itself. I also can't stand up from a seated position without help and carrying a tray upstairs presents problems. Does anyone have any ideas please. I used to be very strong and active and I am worried as to what might be the cause. I have been to the doctors and they are hopeless, by the time I have told them a symptom my time is up. I hand them a list of symptoms and they say one at a time. Getting despondent, I get more help here than anywhere.

Weak muscles and keep pulling them
So sorry. I hope people chime in with suggestions.
It would help if you posted your most recent blood tests for thyroid, as without those, members are just guessing. You need to ask your surgery to print them and you are fully entitled to have them. In the meantime I wonder if you are low in magnesium. Try magnesium baths. I have them regularly, as I do not tolerate taking it in tablet form.

I take magnesium malate but read the serving size and found that I need 3 a day, I have been taking 2. I can no longer get myself out of my bath, I don't have the power in my arms anymore, this is why its so worrying. I am 5'10" and rounded but not overly overweight. My friends of the same age don't have this problem. I am also getting arthritis in my fingers and my tinnitus is bad at the moment. I look really haggered and old in my face. I have bloodshot eyes.
Your thyroid levels all look good and so does most of the rest, although there are a few out of range and I am not the person to ask on those. If nobody replies, check online to see if any could be responsible. For instance your CRP is over range. What is your diet like? Not that your results look as though it is diet related but I cannot think of any other avenue to check out. Maybe someone else will have a good idea.
Sorry for your problems. I am 72 years old with no thyroid since three years ago. I have never stopped trying to stay fit especially muscles.
Walking exercises your lungs but I do Yoga and this morning did 80 crunches, and arm weights to. This only took 20 minutes. I have been doing this for years. As for legs you need special exercises for these to keep them strong.
It could be something else but I doubt it.
So I thought I would go up my stairs with a bit more confidence and power, so what happened, I tweaked a muscle again. So went hobbling on my walk this morning. It seems to have worn off. I can't even clean my windows without my arms aching, I just don't have any power. I used to be so strong, running over the mountains, windsurfing, water skiing and then hit the menopause and oh wow, just lost it all. I couldn't even pick up my baby without my back aching. Went to the doctor and he just said well what do you expect! Other Mums weren't having the problems, and were carrying much older children around. I couldn't do the school sports day Mum's race or anything and I can't stand for long, kills my back. I can't put my finger on the problem. I shall increase my magnesium. I did have a heart attack in 2014 with no known cause but before that I was filled with anxiety, stress and my Dad died and my husband left me with bills and a family to look after and my Mum started dementia. It was only when I started taking magnesium that I calmed down.
Why not post your thyroid tests with the ranges on here for answer. I have gone through your old post but can't see any recent blood test results.
Everyone has their problems, some more than most it's getting over them that helps.
Good Luck.
I have posted my most recent blood test results for Aug 2018

Thank you I missed seeing them above. This sounds as though your problems have been going on for years. Your lowish Serum creatine kinase can be a sign of muscle problems or of the liver.
If I were you I would visit a decent Doctor, this is worrying you poor thing.
Your thyroid levels appear OK.
Do you eat plenty of protein low levels can effect the muscles too. Let me know OK?
I normally have bacon and eggs for breakfast and some form of meat or fish with vegetables for an evening meal. Lunch varies. I found a hair mineral test that I did last year and I was low for manganese, boron and molybdenum, low in germanium, zero for lithium, platinum, thalium, vernadium, tungsten but very high for tin. I have been taking boron for the last 6 months but I notice that manganese is linked to ligaments and muscles. I wonder if this has a connection. I have used up all the doctors in two different surgeries now, never can see the same doctor and each one says one symptom per visit, can't even book a double appointment. Regarding the liver, I am a few days in doing the celery juice on an empty stomach first thing.
It's confusing isn't it. Want about a holistic type of doctor they would be able to balance out the different minerals etc.?
I am about to be 70, very strong and most of my work is in farming so I get a lot of exercise every day. However in the last couple of years I have experienced very severe cramp mostly in my legs and usually at the end of the day. Humanbean on this site suggested magnesium for the cramp and it made a huge difference taking in tablet form and on the skin. I have looked into the function of magnesium and it is very important to healthy function of all our organs. I am continuing with the tablet form but have found another skin application that doesn't have oils added and is sea water based called Ease. (From the Dead Sea with all its minerals) Information on the internet says that magnesium is most efficiently taken up by being absorbed through the skin going direct to the cells. In tablet form much is lost through digestion also may act like a laxative for some people.
I shall continue with the tablets but the point about the skin product is that you can't overdose because the body will only take up what it needs. I also learned that most people over age of 55 have depleted magnesium levels. I am sure there may be other deficiences but I am just going with the magnesium for now because of the incredible benefit and although I still get twinges or those evenings when I feel the need to apply it to my skin I have not had a repetition of the long immobilising cramp attacks since taking magnesium!
I am also experiencing muscle weakness and a lot of pain in my legs which may be got right with magnesium or .... I'll get there. Its really helpful to read everyone's posts and realise these symptoms are common.
Go see a naturopath, you will have lots of time with them and it doesn't cost too much. I have increased my magnesium malate as I realised what I thought were high levels was for 3 tablets. I now take one in the morning and 2 eve. Haven't had cramp for the last week. I also take omega 3 in the evening. I finally went to a chiropractor after over a decade of hip pain and muscle weakness. She instantly identified I had a leg longer than the other. After 6 treatments I now wear an innersole and I don't waddle anymore. Why couldn't the doctor, physios, osteopaths pick it up! OMG I despair. Was told needed a new hip. I have no hip pain now, its disgraceful. Try holistic.
Thank you Dramlouie. Will take your advice, my daughter had suggested a naturopath. I don't think I should ignore this suggestion! Thanks.
