73 yr, and this sciatica is really bad, butt, down right leg above knee, debilitating pain. I'm on hydro, gagapentin, naproxen for nerve damage, but these do nothing for the sciatica. Does CBD oil really work?Ive NEVER smoked & wont start vaping.Real suggestions appreciated. Tks

Yes, it really works. However, as I don't have sciatica, I can't say if it works for that, but it does wonders for my lower back pain. I just take ten drops of the oil, not need to vap - I wouldn't do that if you paid me! lol

Hanna Somatics can really resolve sciatica in just a few sessions with a clinical practitioner, or through a daily exercise regime. It teaches you to restore muscle length where habituated muscle contraction keeps muscles shortened which changes your posture and leads to sciatica and a host of other chronic pain conditions. There are not too many UK practiiioners as yet but the number is growing. Email me if you want more info.

I suffered with sciatica until a physio showed me how to release the trapped nerve. I'm sure it can be Googled. Press firmly into hip joint/dimple on buttock then lean forward from hip. Works everytime, I was bit angry with gp who had plied me full of pain killers when he should have known something that simple. I show everyone and it always seems to work, my local vicar had suffered 50 years of pain and sleepless nights, he was so happy to start jogging again. Hope it works for you x

I have had re-curing sciatica now for several years, often for months on end. No medic that I've ever seen has done anything other than prescribe powerful painkillers., which don't relieve the pain anyway. I have googled the condition several times and found plenty of different 'exercises' purported to help or even cure it. But they don't work for me. I've never seen anything that sounds like what you describe.

If you can find a link to point me at that explains how to actually release the trapped nerve, I would be so delighted! And I'm sure others would too, as it's often mentioned on here.

I was shown how to do it and have shown others, its not easy to explain. It not an exercise or a stretch it releases the nerve. You need a physio person to show you. I use handle of wooden spoon as thumb not strong enough or hubby does it for me, press hard into dimple/joint bend with straight back forward and slightly wiggle hip till it releases.

Oh thank you, that does at least give me a pointer to start experimenting! I know what you mean about thumbs not strong enough, so the wooden spoon handle is a good tip :)
