Pituitary issues

So my labs are in. Got diagnosed with autoimmune Hashimotos last November. I recently crashed and started seeing a functional Med dr. He also tested my hormones. They all came back low along with my thyroid labs. So he’s thinking my pituitary isn’t sending signals. If I supplement my female and thyroid hormones is this ok if my pituitary is malfunctioning?

Estradiol- 1.2

Estriol- 39.7

Progesterone- 139 (on oral 20mcg daily already)

Pg/e2- 116

Testosterone- 18

Luteinizing hormone- 9.9

FSH RV-6.2

T4free-1.15 ( 25mcq BID levo, 0.25mcg BID Cytomel)

T3free-3.2

TSH-2.0

T3RV-96

Hi

Could you please add in the normal ranges in brackets after each result?

Also , have you ever had any nutrients levels tested? Especially :

Vitamin D

B12

Folate and

Ferritin?

If not ask your doctor for them asap?

Also ask for Calcium and phosphate tests.

Best to see what deficiencies you have first and then address any with specific supplements.

Never take multivitamins or multiminerals.

Your TSH isn't too bad.

I don't have enough knowledge to comment on your post, but someone else will be along. Full information on tests with dates, ranges & any comment by doctor or lab will help.

Do you have your labs from when you were diagnosed? If so, post them on here, with the ranges. That will give a better idea about your pituitary.

Thing is, if your thyroid hormones are off kilter, then your other hormones will be, too. But, that doesn't necessarily mean you have a pituitary problem. With a TSH of 2, you are obviously under-medicated. :)

I believe so too but he said all looked good when they cane back. I think he’s playing it safe because it’s so easy for me to go hyperthyroid. But

Well, actually, you could never go hyperthyroid, because you are hypo. The thyroid doesn't regenerate and jump about like that. You could be over-medicated, but I doubt you are. Don't know, of course, because you haven't given the ranges.

But, your very first bloods can't have looked good, or they would never have diagnosed you. And, that's what I was asking about: the results and ranges from the blood test that lead to your diagnosis. :)

He hasn't tested either cortisol of growth hormone so not a full pituitary profile by any means. If your pituitary is not functioning well then you need to see an Endocrinologist for further testing.

I had all the labs there when I transitioned to a functional Med dr. However I had a follow up with my primary and had a ACTH simulation test done and still waiting on the results. It is taking 6 mo to get into an endocrinologist which is coming up o. Dec 5. I saw an Endo when first diagnosed but he only wanted to look at the TSH, so needless to say I had to get into another Endo. I started seeing functional Med since it was taking so long.
