Exhausted after only minimal exertion

I’ve been struggling with energy for about 1.5yrs. First symptoms were during intense exercise I’d be fine but then end up in bed for 2-3 days with exhaustion.

I had low-ish iron and felt loads better when supplementing but then it almost went high so had to stop.

In July discovered thyroid wasn’t optimal so started Metavive I (15mg) and Thorne’s Adrenal Cortex (50mg).

Feeling loads better overall and body temperature is bit better but find that with minimal exertion such as housework my muscles really ache, I feel stressed and weak then I have to rest.

I feel hot when this happens but if I take my temp during these times it’s dropped significantly (35.7). If I have a couple of chewable Saltsticks electrolytes tablets and a drink it helps a bit.

Muscles then ache disproportionally to what I’ve done, for a couple of days.

Does this sound like a thyroid / adrenal struggle? Just wondering if there’s something else I should be doing.

I’m finding it extremely frustrating as I’m improving but I just want to be able to do normal stuff!

Sounds like you have low T3. Have you had your FT3 tested?

Yes I have :)

13th Sept 2018 it was 4.52 (range 3.1-6.8).

That's probably not high enough for you. Hence the problems you describe.

Ok thank you. I bet you’re right.

I’ll probably increase the Metavive if it’s likely to be low T3 and see how that goes as I was due to increase a couple of weeks ago but did one day of 2 x 15mg and got scared as I felt a bit on edge.

Next day I went back to 1 x 15mg and found that my daily average temperatures were bouncing up and down for a few days.

I know it’s said that your adrenal glands need to be in good shape to tolerate thyroid support so I’ve increased adrenal cortex to twice daily and temperatures seem more stable so hopefully may be more tolerant to an increase.

I’m doing well on the Metavive so far as I feel more like a tired human being. A low energy version of myself rather than some sort of zoned out zombie not even on this planet (if that makes sense!)

Fingers crossed!

Thank you, perhaps I did too much for my current state of energy. I did a short swim and spa session on Saturday which left me feeling faint. Perhaps I needed more recovery.

I feel ok sometimes though and get excited and do a few things that don’t seem over the top (but maybe are considering I’ve been exhausted for so long). It’s a frustratingly slow process.
